We are looking for an IFR Pilot to provide essential medical air transportation services using our EC135/H135 aircraft. Enjoy a balanced work schedule with seven days on and seven days off, with 12-hour shifts accommodating day or night operations. Safety is our utmost priority, and you will be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining the highest safety standards for both crew and patients.
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Operate the aircraft according to the Rotorcraft Flight Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and company policies, prioritizing safety and compliance.
- Efficiently coordinate with dispatch, medical teams, and ground personnel for seamless transport operations.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections, monitor weather conditions, complete flight planning, and ensure aircraft is ready for dispatch.
- Maintain aircraft cleanliness and participate in routine housekeeping around the base, including hangar and crew quarters.
- Immediately report any aircraft discrepancies, malfunctions, or incidents to the Communications Center and maintenance team.
- Assist in aircraft upkeep, including wash and wax responsibilities.
- Accurately complete required paperwork with timely submissions, including flight logs and manifests.
- Provide detailed shift change reports and adhere to protocols for updating the change board.
- Exemplify the REACH values and uphold a professional demeanor on and off duty.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Education & Certifications:
- FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate
- FAA Helicopter Instrument Rating (Required)
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
- 2,000 helicopter flight hours
- 1,000 helicopter PIC hours
- 1,000 turbine hours
- Minimum 200 helicopter night flight hours (aided and/or unaided)
- Minimum 100 cumulative hours of instrument flight time
- Meet US Forest Service carding requirements:
- 100 flight hours in the previous 12 months
- 50 hours in the EC-135
- 200 hours mountain time (as defined by AIM)
Pilot Incentives:
- 35% geographical modifier to base pay
- $5,000 IFR Stipend
- $5,000 Lead Pilot Stipend
- $15,000 sign-on bonus (1-year commitment)
- $40K Retention Bonus after 36 months in the GMR Pilot Retention Bonus Plan
- 24-hour pilot housing provided
- 7-on / 7-off schedule
Physical Requirements:
- 230-pound weight limit, including flight gear
- Frequent sitting for extended periods
- Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in various weather conditions
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, airborne particles, and in-flight vibrations
- May require wearing a headset due to noise levels
Mental Requirements:
- Ability to make sound, time-sensitive decisions under pressure
- Follow oral and written instructions precisely
- Adapt to irregular schedules and changing operational needs
Previous experience with Airbus EC135/H135 or similar aircraft is preferred, but not mandatory.
